Gah, time is indeed running out. Less than 4 months now. Had a talk with the boss, and realized I'm actually in much better shape work-wise that I thought. Already completed the check-in process to get that out of the way. Payment due in a few weeks.
Been busy and have all the ports researched. Except for Amsterdam, Reykjavik and London. Go figure, the biggies, with the first two being overnights. Managed to get through Reykjavik this week, including a place that serves reindeer. Yeah, I'd definitely try that, I like deer plenty well enough. Plus the amusement value of a picture of me saying "I'm eating Rudolph" is too much to pass up.Still have to do a little more research here, though.
Today's big project, Amsterdam. Cripes, could this city be a little more boring please?! Wayyy too much to look into. I've spent the past 3 and a half hours researching and I'm tired. Like, literally exhausted. And I'm still not done. I'm not much into museums, but the Van Gogh seems like it's going to make the short list. I've always liked this guy's style. The Anne Frank house, while sobering, I'm figuring will be fascinating.
I think I figured out what the insidious laughs were about concerning Amsterdam. I've thoroughly researched it so I know what places to avoid. Though I had forgotten about the other big "naughty" Amsterdam thing - the Red Light District. Yawn.
Beer scene sounds awesome, lots of small breweries and styles. Yum. This is definitely going to be very busy two days, soaking in as much as possible. The next day we'll be in Southampton, where we'll be going to London. I'm going to be dead by the time we hit Plymouth. :)
Onward!
